The USA Falcons 7s team was supposed to play in a tournament this weekend, but will not.
The George 7sPL tournament in George, South Africa, which was to kick off today, was postponed due to the death of former South African president Nelson Mandela.
The tournament fell inside the country's week of mourning for Mandela, whose funeral was Sunday.
The tournament was postponed after tournament organizers consulted with the South African Rugby Union.
They posted on their Facebook page earlier this week:
We apologize to all supporters. This was not a decision taken lightly. It is however important that rugby gives respect to a man that did so much for the sport.
