Fiji - The Shangri-La USA Falcons men's 7s team have started the Coral Coast 7s 1-1 on Thursday.
Paced by two excellent tries from Carlin Isles, the USA beat Coastal 28-19 in their opening match. In their second game, however, they were leading right on full time and a turnover allowed Army to score and win 21-17.
The Falcons were led by Mike Ziegler, who played very well for the Falcons at the NACRA 7s and again in the opening matches. But Ziegler left the second game injured and will not play any further part in today's games. Ryan Matyas was also hurt in that game.
Much now falls on the shoulders of Nu'u Punimata, who has played consistently well and will have to do more now that Ziegler is hurt.
Next up for the Falcons is Naviti on Friday. Navitia is 1-1 after losing to the Fiji Army team, and beating Coastal.
Currently the Falcons are 2nd in their pool. The Serevi Selects out of Seattle lead their pool.
